adidas Japan and Japan Football Association (JFA) Extend Official Supplier Agreement to March 2015

Tokyo/Japan, May 26, 2006 - adidas Japan K.K. and Japan Football Association (JFA) announced yesterday that they will extend their successful partnership until March 2015. The financial terms of the agreement, which began in April 1999, were not disclosed.

“We are very pleased to have agreed with the Japan Football Association to extend a long-term contract as official supplier in the year when the World Cup will be held in Germany,” said Pascal Martin, adidas Japan K.K. President. “adidas hopes to provide maximum support for Japan so that it can deliver its best performance at the FIFA World Cup™ and, as a result, to contribute to the development of Japan’s football community."

adidas is the Official Sponsor, Supplier and Licensee of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ in Germany. Last year, adidas already secured the rights to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa as well as the 2014 FIFA World Cup™. Germany, Argentina, France, Spain, South Africa, Denmark, Nigeria are among the federations outfitted by adidas. Prominent clubs, such as FC Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, AC Milan, also endorse adidas products. Additionally, individual players like David Beckham, Kaká, Zinédine Zidane, Raúl González and Michael Ballack represent their respective clubs wearing state-of-the-art adidas football equipment.
