Chelsea Football Club and adidas Announce Eight-Year Sponsorship Deal

London/Amsterdam - Chelsea Football Club and adidas today announced an eight-year sponsorship agreement.

Under the terms of the agreement, which comes into effect for the 2006/7 season, adidas will become the Official Sportswear Supplier, Official Product Supplier and Official Kit Supplier to Chelsea Football Club as well as a Partner, Club Sponsor and Technical Sponsor.

The partnership is a natural alliance between a leading sports brand and one of Europe's leading clubs. Chelsea FC will be provided with the latest, most advanced sportswear and joins an exclusive list of clubs who benefit from adidas' expertise. The partnership will allow both parties to work together to develop innovative products within an intensely fast moving industry.

The sponsorship agreement comes into effect on July 1st, 2006.

In 2004 adidas was an Official Supplier to the UEFA Champions League™, UEFA EURO 2004™, the AFC Asian Cup and the Athens Olympic Games. In addition, adidas has partnerships with football federations such as Germany, the host of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, South Africa, the host of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, European Champions Greece, Asian Champions Japan, Olympic Champions Argentina, China, Denmark, France, Nigeria and Spain. Prominent clubs, such as FC Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, AC Milan and FC River Plate, also endorse adidas products. Additionally, individual players like David Beckham, Kaká, Zinédine Zidane, Raúl González and Michael Ballack represent their respective clubs wearing state-of-the-art adidas football equipment.
