adidas-Salomon appoints Frank Henke as Global Director of Social and Environmental Affairs
Herzogenaurach, January 13, 2003 - Effective January 1, 2003, adidas-Salomon AG has appointed Frank Henke (38), currently Head of Social and Environmental Affairs Europe, as Global Director of Social and Environmental Affairs. He will further develop and manage all programs and efforts related to safe and fair working conditions in the manufacture of adidas-Salomon Group products. Additionally, he will maintain and extend close dialogue with the Group's stakeholders, such as non-governmental organisations, investors, consumers and other special interest groups.
Frank Henke, who joined adidas in 1991, has worked in various roles, many of which have had an international focus. Since 1994 he has led the Group's environmental initiatives. In addition, he was a founding member of the global Social and Environmental Affairs Team. Frank Henke is a German citizen and is based at the Group's headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
Frank Henke succeeds David Husselbee (43), who is relinquishing his position for health reasons. David Husselbee joined adidas-Salomon in 1999 as Global Director of Social and Environmental Affairs to set up the Social and Environmental Affairs Team and to implement the "Standards of Engagement" (SOE) - adidas-Salomon's code of conduct.

Evelyn Ulrich (39), currently Regional Manager Europe, succeeds Frank Henke as Head of Social and Environmental Affairs Europe. She started working for adidas in 1995 as Technical Manager in Thailand, where she established and led a successful quality management team. Since joining the SEA Team in October 2000, Evelyn Ulrich has co-ordinated the implementation of the SOE for Europe, the Middle East and South Africa. She is a German citizen and is also located in Herzogenaurach.
The Social and Environmental Affairs team is made up of 30 people operating from three main regions: Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. William Anderson (41), who is based in Hong Kong, heads up the team in Asia Pacific and Gregg Nebel (46) leads the team in the Americas from Portland.
