Ross McMullin appointed to the Board of adidas-Salomon AG

Herzogenaurach, August 6, 2002 - The Supervisory Board of adidas-Salomon AG today appointed Ross McMullin (45) to the Executive Board of adidas-Salomon AG, effective September 1, 2002. Mr. McMullin joined the Company on July 1, 2000 as President of adidas America Inc., the Company's North American subsidiary based in Portland, Oregon. He will remain in charge of all adidas and Salomon operations in North America.

With this appointment, adidas-Salomon underlines its strong commitment to North America, the biggest sporting goods market in the world, where the Company is anticipating double-digit sales growth in 2002. With Mr. McMullin's appointment, the Executive Board will expand from six to seven members with five different nationalities, reflecting the Company's true global nature and ambitions.

Mr. McMullin, a Canadian national, has more than 20 years experience in the consumer goods industry, holding senior management positions both in the United States and Europe. During his seventeen-year career with Gillette, Mr. McMullin held senior management positions of increasing responsibility; prior to joining adidas-Salomon he was President of Gillette Central Europe. Mr. McMullin began his career at Peat, Marwick and Mitchell, Chartered Accountants.
