adidas-Salomon Opens Store in Amsterdam

May 02, 2001

Amsterdam, 02/05/2001 - adidas-Salomon has opened the doors to the new Store in one of the best shopping streets in Amsterdam. The adidas-Salomon Amsterdam Store features over 825 square meters on two floors, integrated in a sports shop owned by the Macintosh Retail Group.

The Amsterdam Store will provide adidas with the ideal stage to present its entire current range of shoes and apparel, which includes over 250 different shoe models. Each of the two floors is designed to highlight a specific category. Also featured are products from all Salomon sports categories.

The construction of the partnership with a sports specialist is unique. It offers adidas and Salomon know-how and experience of the retailer, who is responsible for the building, the personnel and the warehousing, while adidas-Salomon is responsible for product planning, image, merchandising and product training.

“Since the repositioning of our brand in the Benelux market in 1997, the image and awareness of our brand has constantly been enhanced. With the Amsterdam store we want to achieve even better exposure for our brands and increase knowledge about sports and sports technologies,” stated Nico van Offeren, Managing Director of adidas Benelux.

The adidas-Salomon Amsterdam store is located in 71, Kalverstaat, one of the best shopping streets in Europe, visited by over 25 million people a year. The store will be open Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM until 7:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 noon until 6:00 PM.
