AD-HOC: Robert Louis-Dreyfus and Christian Tourres to retire from the Executive Board - Herbert Hainer to take over as CEO

Supervisory Board will propose to the Shareholders’ Meeting the election of Christian Tourres to the Supervisory Board +++ CFO Robin Stalker appointed to the Executive Board

Herzogenaurach, 31/01/2001 - At its meeting yesterday evening, the Supervisory Board of adidas-Salomon AG appointed the current Deputy Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, Herbert Hainer, as CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board effective March 8th, 2001. Herbert Hainer succeeds Robert Louis-Dreyfus in this position.

“Over the past years, Herbert Hainer has contributed in key areas to the extremely positive development of adidas-Salomon. We are convinced that he will lead the company into the next era of success and growth,” stated Henri Filho, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of adidas-Salomon AG.

Robert Louis-Dreyfus, who has been CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board since April 7th, 1993, will leave the company as announced last year. He will retire from office effective March 8th, 2001. Christian Tourres, currently Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, will retire from the Executive Board on the same date. The Supervisory Board will propose to the Shareholders’ Meeting the election of Christian Tourres to the Supervisory Board.

Additionally, the Supervisory Board appointed Robin Stalker to the Executive Board of adidas-Salomon AG effective January 30th, 2001. Robin Stalker, a New Zealand citizen, has held the position of CFO of the company since February 1st, 2000.
