adidas sport gmbh to close down Switzerland warehouse in 2001

Tagelswangen, 26/06/2000 - The adidas Group is currently in the process of focussing its entire European supply chain on five warehouse locations. There are clear economic reasons for centralising the various warehouses. With a centrally organised supply chain process, significant synergy potential can be utilised in both the cost and the service sector.

There are approximately 35 people working in the logistics sector at the Swiss warehouse site who will be affected by this measure. A social compensation plan has been developed for the employees concerned, and adidas will provide them with active support in their search for new employment.

From May 2001, deliveries with destination Switzerland will mainly come from the European warehouse in Scheinfeld/Uffenheim in Southern Germany. Delivery of the 2001 Spring/Summer Range will still be handled through the warehouse in Switzerland.
