36 Hours in Paris: An Employee Experience of a Lifetime
14 lucky employees won the chance to take part in an activation designed to celebrate those who live and breathe our purpose by making an impact through sport, both in and out of the workplace.
At adidas, we believe that sport has the power to change lives. Earlier this summer, amidst the buzz of one of the world’s most thrilling spectacles, we rewarded a group of employees who truly embody our purpose. These individuals were recognized by their peers for their dedication to volunteering and for empowering diverse communities. After being nominated by their colleagues, they were given the incredible opportunity to experience the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games up close. Talk about front-row seats!
Why the Paralympics, you ask? Well, it’s simple. The Paralympics isn’t just a sports event; it’s a stage where the world’s top athletes with disabilities unite around breathtaking performances and record-breaking feats, challenging perceptions of what’s possible. These athletes don’t just reshape the narrative around disability – they rewrite it entirely.
This year, we wanted our employees to fully embrace the spirit of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to feel the unifying power of sport firsthand. And what better way to do that than by witnessing the Paralympics live?
Our journey began at the adidas Paris office, where we soaked in a breathtaking view of the French capital. But the real highlight? Meeting Olympic Bronze medallist Manon Genest (Long Jump T37) and former Paralympian Assia El Hannouni. After the inspiring Meet & Greet it was time for the main event, the thrill of the Para-Athletics competitions was around the corner and we headed to the Stade de France to witness and cheer for adidas athletes like Athanasios Ghavelas, Lauren Rowles, Joel de Jong, Katie Holloway and many more, etching their names into history.
Watching these athletes compete wasn’t just about the sport, it was about showing the world that greatness comes in all forms. An experience our trip winners won’t soon forget.
