Here are some helpful tips on how you can prepare before coming in for an interview with our team:
Research the company. Make sure you know about recent changes, campaigns, products, the market and future goals. What is the company’s philosophy? What are its principles? Why would you like to work for the adidas Group? Remember some important key facts.
Research the position. Gain a thorough understanding of the position you are applying for, and clarify any questions beforehand.
Be on time! Punctuality demonstrates that one can rely on you to meet deadlines or appointments. Allow enough time to get there and make sure you know where you are going. If possible, go there a day before to test how long it will take you.
Check your appearance! Although the adidas Group is a very casual workplace, we always recommend that you dress for success when coming in for an interview. Once you join the team, you can come to work wearing our great sports brands.
Practice! Before the actual interview, practice common interview questions such as “Why would you like to work for adidas?” with a friend or in front of the mirror. Do not memorize answers, but think of possible key points to include.
References! Prepare references of former employers, be sure to get their permission in advance.
Conversation! Let the interviewers lead the conversation and do not talk too much. However, be prepared to elaborate on some questions about yourself and do not just answer with a “yes” or “no” as the interviewers would like to get to know you. Show interest in the company and do not be afraid to ask questions.
Handshake. A firm handshake, while smiling and making eye contact with the interviewer, demonstrates confidence. The adidas Group is looking for future leaders, and we want you to come in and demonstrate that you are confident in your ability to come work with us, and be a huge success.
Your resume. Be sure to bring an updated resume and know it by heart. Prepare answers regarding your weaknesses such as gaps in employment and reasons for leaving previous employers.
Follow-Up. Ask about the timeframe for filling the position and when you will be contacted next. Send a thank you note to all interviewers to thank them for their time.
Have Fun & Relax! Your experience interviewing with the adidas Group should be a fun one, remember, we are a sports/fashion company … fun is our middle name!
